Also known as a gymnogene, the purple-grey of the Harrier-Hawk was a must for my birds of the western cape palette. After seeing this majestic bird of prey a number of times in the neighbourhoods of Claremont and Rondebosch, I knew I wanted to capture the pale, shifting greys of its feathers.
